We are proud of our past, confident in our present and hugely ambitious for the future.

A story with roots, a future with ambition

Dear Families,

Colégio Leonardo da Vinci was founded in 1988, the result of the vision, courage and dedication of Leonor Quelha and António Quelha, who believed in the importance of creating a high-quality educational project, close to children and their families.

It is with great respect for this legacy that the new leadership has taken on the responsibility of continuing this story, determined to help the school grow and evolve while preserving the values that have always set it apart.

Today we are a school with a family atmosphere, offering Pre-school and the 1st and 2nd Cycles of Basic Education, and we are enthusiastically preparing to open the 3rd Cycle, one more step towards an ever more complete educational journey.

Over the last fifteen years we have grown steadily, thanks to the dedication of our teams and the trust of the families who believe in our project. It is that trust, and the daily requests of parents, that we want to keep living up to, with quality, closeness and a constant wish to improve.

But our dreams go further.

We aim to build a new school from the ground up, with modern facilities ready to welcome every level of education, from Pre-school to Secondary. We want to create a place where our pupils can grow, learn and develop throughout their whole school journey.

We know that growing takes vision, work and perseverance. And we want to do it without ever losing what defines us: closeness, a family spirit and individual attention to every child.

We are proud of our past, confident in our present and hugely ambitious for the future.

We will keep growing, always with the same purpose: to give our children the best possible education and to earn, every day, the trust of their families.

With warm regards and commitment,

We do not want to raise little Leonardos. We want every child to discover their own talent and have the chance to reach their full potential.

Educating with Rigour, Growing with Humanity

Dear Families,

Leonardo da Vinci was a man ahead of his time. His curiosity, creativity and constant wish to discover made him one of the most extraordinary figures in history. It is in this spirit of discovery, knowledge and innovation that we find the inspiration for our Educational Project.

At Colégio Leonardo da Vinci, we believe that every child is unique, with their own talents, abilities and pace. Our mission is to provide an excellent education that supports their all-round development, encouraging critical thinking, creativity, independence and human values.

We stand for an education in which teaching rigour and humanity go hand in hand. High standards, knowledge and the quality of learning matter just as much as warmth, emotional security and respect for each child’s individuality.

Just as Leonardo da Vinci sought to understand the world through observation, experimentation and discovery, we want our pupils to learn to question, to explore and to build their own knowledge, seeing every challenge as a chance to grow.

We also believe that education is built in partnership with families, through trust, dialogue and a shared commitment to the well-being and success of every child.

We do not want to raise little Leonardos. We want every child to discover their own talent and have the chance to reach their full potential.

Because educating is much more than teaching. It is inspiring, supporting and helping to build the future.

With warm regards and dedication,

The Head of Teaching and LearningÂngela AraújoColégio Leonardo da Vinci | Braga

A Dream Born in 1988 That Keeps on Growing

Dear Families,

The greatest pride of anyone who creates a project is to see it grow beyond themselves, keeping alive the essence that gave it life.

In 1988, we set out to fulfil a great dream and take on a huge challenge: to create a school where quality teaching, personal growth and closeness to families would be the pillars of an educational project unlike any other in Braga.

That is how Colégio Leonardo da Vinci was born!

The result of a new vision of education, a great deal of dedication and, above all, a deep passion for teaching.

Our first steps were marked by challenges, setbacks and a lot of hard work, but above all by the firm conviction that we were building something truly special. Every child we welcomed, every family that trusted us and every achievement along the way gave meaning to our journey.

Over the years, we have had the privilege of watching our school grow, educate generations of pupils and become part of the story of so many families. More than a place of learning, we have built a community of affection, values and memories that fills us with pride.

Later, in 2010, we realised that the school needed new, younger and more dynamic leadership.

And so Dr Ângela Araújo and Dr Paulo Faria joined us, leading the expansion of the school's offer and the ambition to build an ever more complete school, carrying on the dream we began almost four decades ago.

Today, it is with great emotion and satisfaction that we see the project keep growing, renewing itself and preparing new horizons.

To all the families, pupils, teachers and staff who are still part of our story, we offer our most sincere thanks, because truly great dreams do not end with those who begin them, but live on in everyone who believes in them!

With great pride, gratitude and affection,
